Fanny Blake | Dean Crawford | Sam Missingham | Scott Pack
11 November 2017, London
London, 27 July 2017: Two cross-Atlantic industry heavyweights, The London Book Fair and Writer’s Digest, have joined forces to launch The Writer’s Summit, an unmissable new day-long event for writers, which will explore new opportunities in publishing and help to develop successful writing careers.
With established authors Fanny Blake and Dean Crawford, and publishing experts Sam Missingham and Scott Pack, confirmed to be taking part in the event, the compelling programme will provide fresh insight and practical advice on the numerous options available to modern-day writers.
The event will feature sessions on the rapidly evolving writing landscape, income generation, promotion and marketing, rights and contracts, retail channels, social media, and so much more. Meanwhile authors will get the chance to pitch their books and ideas to agents with two dedicated “Pitch Slam” events, and there will be a range of networking sessions giving delegates the chance to meet with peers and industry influencers.
Orna O’Brien, Conference Manager of The London Book Fair, said: “With the wealth of choice available it can be challenging for authors to select the most appropriate paths towards publication. This event is designed to present the options and help authors to navigate through this sometimes complicated landscape, while providing hints and tips on how to be successful and generate income from their work. We are delighted to be teaming up with Writer’s Digest to deliver a compelling programme which will appeal to writers, and particularly those at the early stages of their careers.”
James Woollam, Managing Director of Writer’s Digest UK, commented: “Writer’s Digest is proud to be a world-leading resource for aspiring writers. The Writer’s Digest Annual Conference in New York is a flagship industry event and we are delighted to be working with The London Book Fair team to bring a similar experience to London. We’re tremendously excited about the opportunity for writers in what we see as a publishing environment full of opportunity. This conference will tackle some of those key opportunities with insight, ideas and practical actions for writers to take away from the day.”
