At 9am The London Book Fair 2019 opened its doors, with publishing professionals from around the globe arriving to meet the ‘who’s who’ of the publishing industry under one roof.

Crime pays…
First up this morning we were joined by world renowned storyteller, Karin Slaughter. Karin was here to tell us all about her brand new book, The Last Widow. We chatted to her this morning in the LBF Live Lounge, here’s what she had to say:
Illustrator of the Fair…
Next up Elmer the Elephant was in the house along with creator David McKee, they were both here to celebrate Elmer’s 30th birthday with Anderson Press.
We caught up with David during the cake-cutting celebrations in the Elmer Cafe:
Authors of the day…
Today we were joined by not just one author of the day, but four. First up the European Trio of Authors; Simone Buchholz, Stefan Hertmans and Antoine Laurain, joined us in Cafe Europe.
Last but not least, Caryl Phillips joined us on English PEN Literary Salon stage for an insightful conversation with Maya Jaggi.
Following the session we caught up with Caryl to hear his thoughts on the exciting new generation of writers coming through:
