The London Book Fair celebrates UK publishing talent under 30

Winners to receive six month Groucho Club membership

London. 29.11. 2017. Submissions open today for the Trailblazer Awards, recognising publishing professionals aged under 30 who are demonstrating innovation and ambition in the book industry.

Now in their third year, the awards are run The London Book Fair, in association with the Publishers Association, supported by the Society of Young Publishers and BookBrunch, and sponsored by Publishing Training Centre. The awards are open to anyone under the age of 30 (as of 12 February 2018).

Five winners will be selected by a judging panel and announced at a ceremony at the Groucho Club in London on 12 February 2018, hosted by The London Book Fair and SYP.

Winners will receive a six-month membership to the Groucho Club, as well as VIP entry to The London Book Fair, and access to The Club at the Ivy’s LBF pop-up. The winners will also be celebrated at the Fair itself.

Heather McDaid, one of the 2017 Trailblazer Awards winners, said: “As a freelancer working from my spare room in Scotland, the London Book Fair Trailblazer’s Award was a great validation that there is no set route through the publishing industry. Taking the leap as a freelancer and working in such an irregular way is quite scary, but to win alongside so many talented people who are making a great impact on the UK industry was a lovely moment that underlines that you can do great work whether in an office, or at home! I would encourage people to nominate colleagues and peers from all corners of the industry and celebrate the impact they’re making in the book world.”
How to enter:

Entrants can enter themselves, or nominate a friend or colleague who they believe deserves to be recognised, by submitting a short description of why they should win in no more than 50 words via the LBF website. Entrants and nominees will also be invited to submit an optional 60 second video to support their entry or nomination. www.londonbookfair.co.uk/trailblazer
