NEWS FOR RELEASE, LONDON, 3 October 2013: Later this week The London Book Fair (LBF) team will be attending MIPJunior, “the world’s showcase for kids programming.” LBF has coordinated an event in partnership with MIPJunior, “What Publishers Want To See From Producers”, that will be chaired by Director, The London Book Fair, Jacks Thomas.

Participating panellists are:
• Stephanie Gauld, Digital Publisher, Egmont UK
• Fiona Macmillan, Publisher, Children’s Colour and Licensing Random House Children’s Publishers
• Karen Lawler, Executive Manager of Licensing Hachette Children’s Books
• Sharna Jackson, Editor, Tate Kids

Jacks Thomas, Director, The London Book Fair, said: “The gaps between creative worlds are closing more and more each year. It is exciting to be able to work across the disciplines within the creative industries; hosting some of the best children’s publishers in Britain at one of our sister events, MIPJunior in Cannes, is a great example of this. TV producers will get the chance to hear just how best to position themselves to close successful deals to showcase their TV creations through complementary books.”

About MIPJunior and MIPCOM

MIPCOM is the year’s most anticipated global market for entertainment content across all platforms. Each Autumn, the industry’s international heavy hitters – from TV and film – converge in Cannes to create a new world of entertainment. MIPCOM turns every moment into an opportunity, transforming four days of meetings, screenings and conferences into deals – from blockbuster programming to ground-breaking partnerships. And the children’s entertainment industry gets an early start at MIPJunior, where key international buyers, sellers and producers gather to present, discover and screen content at the world’s showcase for kids programming.
