Quantum: Inspiration informed by Data – The Highlights!

At 9.15 the 2018 edition of The Quantum Conference kicked off as publishing professionals from around the world flooded into Olympia’s conference centre.

They were all here for the same reason; to keep abreast of what’s happening in the global industry and in particular an insight on this year’s theme ‘Inspiration informed by Data’.

The day’s session topics included: future trends and tactics; new audiences; discovery; the new creative talent, plus an afternoon focused solely on audio.

In conversation with David Shelley…
First-up David Shelley, CEO of Hachette UK, took to the stage for an insightful conversation with Jo Henry, Nielsen Book UK. David and Jo debated some of the industry’s biggest issues including data, audio books, diversity and the future of publishing.

Kicking off this afternoon’s agenda was a look at the global audio book market with Michele Cobb, Executive Director, Audio Publishers Association & Oliver Beldham, Account Manager, Nielsen Book Research UK.

Last but certainly not least was a look at the challenges of narrating International writing with Lorelei King, Audio Narrator and co-founder of Creative Content Ltd and Adjoa Andoh, BBC Actress and audio narrator.
