June Sarpong revealed as speaker at the Building Inclusivity in Publishing conference

13 November 2017 | Coin Street Conference Centre

London, 27 October 2017: The London Book Fair and the Publishers Association have announced that broadcaster and writer June Sarpong MBE will participate in the Building Inclusivity in Publishing conference 2017.

Renowned across the country as a TV presenter, and most recently as author of the new book Diversify (HQ), June Sarpong will participate in a special conversation with fellow broadcaster, BBC correspondent and conference chair, Razia Iqbal.

Having started her broadcasting career at Kiss FM, Sarpong then became a host on MTV before joining Channel 4’s teen weekend show T4. She is currently a panellist on ITV’s Loose Women and a regular face on the Sky News panel show, The Pledge.

Sarpong is the co-founder of the WIE Network (Women: Inspiration & Enterprise), co-founder of the DNA Summit, and ambassador of the Prince’s Trust, and in 2007 she was awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) for services to broadcasting and charity. Her latest book Diversify: Six Degrees of Integration, published by HQ. HarperCollins, tackles some of the key themes explored at the conference.

Building Inclusivity in Publishing is open to all those working in the book industry and the wider creative industries, and attendees include booksellers, agents, authors, literary festival and event organisers, and publishers.

Back for its second year, the focus of this year’s event is Reflecting All: Effecting Change. The conference will highlight the action currently being taken to improve diversity and inclusion in the creative sector, while exploring what more needs to be done to ensure equal representation.
