PubMatch, the premium global rights trading platform for the book publishing industry, is delighted to announce an extension of its current exhibiting partnership with the London Book Fair to encompass a year-round, online service for those involved in the buying, selling and marketing of copyrights and intellectual property (IP).
The London Book Fair service, GLOBAL RIGHTS 365@LBF, will facilitate IP trading across books and the wider brand licensing universes including TV, film and gaming across all territories. This exciting development is being launched on the eve of the Beijing International Book Fair, which begins August 28, 2015. Titles are scheduled to be uploaded from both the China Publishing Group and Phoenix Publishing and Media Group, representing some of the world’s largest publishing enterprises. GLOBALRIGHTS 365@LBF will be available to London Book Fair participants on an initial trial basis that then offers a preferential rate upon signup. Designed to make the marketing of titles, aggregation of data and rights trading simple and easy to navigate, this development will enable the conversations opened at book fairs to continue within a straightforward commercial context.
Commenting on the initiative, Jon Malinowski , cofounder of PubMatch, says , “We are very excited about this strategic partnership with the London Book Fair. The initiative will help promote more rights opportunities, not only at the London Book Fair, but year round at all International book fairs. It will also help drive more rights sales for publishers through better rights management, as well as allowing agents to use the rights database and proprietary catalogue generation toolkit without being seen on the web.”
Jacks Thomas, Director of the London Book Fair adds, “Rights trading is central to our exhibitors and we are very pleased to be able to offer a year round service that will complement the conversations begun, and relationships founded at our book fair. GLOBALRIGHTS365@LBF will feature rights available from publishing and also other related creative industries which we believe will enhance the opportunities that exist to foster IP transferring across both geographies and formats. This is yet another exciting example of how digital platforms can add value to the existing ways of doing business.’
